Fire crews were called to Burnham-On-Sea’s Coleridge Gardens on Tuesday (September 25th) after a dishwasher was reported to be alight.
Two fire appliances from Burnham were sent to the scene at 12.55pm following a call from the concerned occupant.
“The dishwasher, situated in the kitchen of a privately-owned detached house, was smoking heavily,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Crews entered the property with breathing apparatus. A small fire was found at the rear of the dishwasher and it was extinguished using a hose reel jet.”
“Crews also ventilated the property with a positive pressure ventilation fan.”
The fire was caused accidentally and no persons were involved or injured.
