Hundreds of local people will be raising their coffee mugs for charity today (Friday) as they join in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
Fundraisers in Burnham and Brent Knoll are planning events as part of a nationwide campaign in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Burnham’s Princess Theatre will be holding its event from 10am-3pm on Friday (September 28th).
Barclays Bank in Burnham’s Victoria Street will also be joining in with its own event on Friday, offering cuppas and cakes in return for donations.
And Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll will be providing customers with free tea and coffee from 9am until 12noon today for donations.
The events will continue on Saturday when Burnham’s Marine Cove Gardens on the seafront offers coffee and cakes from 10am until noon with all proceeds going to the cancer charity.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event. Last year, 51,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising a record £10million for the charity. Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
