Students at a Highbridge school have been taking part in a special Reading Week aimed at boosting their interest in books.
The Year 7 pupils at King Alfred School were given an opportunity to read a book of their choice.
“This has been very popular, so much so that even senior staff took up the opportunity to join in,” the school’s Jean-Paul Hoskins told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The students are also taking part in an accelerated reading programme, where students read a book and are later tested on their knowledge.
To mark the event, all the students entered a prize draw and the two winners were Fiona Lodge and Amy Faulks.
