The search is on for vintage vehicles in the Burnham-On-Sea area to join an annual road run in aid of Britain’s wounded servicemen and women.
Organisers of the annual Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Road Run are appealing for entries for this year’s event, which will be held on Saturday, June 6th and will finish in Burnham as in previous years.
The run is being organised by Den Stone, from Glastonbury, and this year will be raising money for Help for Heroes.
Vintage vehicle owners are being invited to book their place on the 45-mile run, which will take the drivers from Glastonbury to Burnham-On-Sea and back.
The event is open to any vehicle at least 20 years old, and organisers are keen to attract as many military vehicles as possible.
The vehicles will start arriving in Bretenoux Road, Glastonbury from 2pm, with many in position by 4pm, giving people time to look at them, buy a programme and make charity donations.
The drivers and passengers will then head for Burnham-On-Sea where they will gather in the Pier Street car park on the town’s seafront. Trophies will be given for vehicles in a number of categories.
Entry forms are available from Mr Stone at 5 Ridgeway Gardens, Glastonbury, Somerset, BA6 8ER and more details are online here.
