Burnham-On-Sea children help police’s drink drive campaign

-

Youngsters from across the Burnham-On-Sea area have been taking part in a poster-making competition to highlight the risks of drinking and driving over the Christmas period.

School pupils from West Huntspill, East Huntspill and Pawlett have produced scores of colourful posters to encourage drivers to think twice before risking accidents.

The competition has been organised by Burnham Police’s Sheila Dickinson and supported by Highbridge’s Asda store, which provided prizes of vouchers and confectionery for the winners.

Store manager Dave Simcox and PCSO Sheila Dickinson handed over the prizes to the winners Keisha Whitehouse, David Clark and Emily Smith, on Friday evening (December 18th), as pictured above. The posters will be displayed in local pubs over the next few days to serve as a reminder to motorists.
