The driver of this car was left “shaken” after demolishing a street lighting column in an accident in Burnham-On-Sea early this morning (Saturday, December 19th).
Police were called to the A38 roundabout, close to the Isleport Industrial Estate, at 6.30am after the driver lost control of his BMW.
Sub-zero temperatures had created icy conditions on the roads at the time, but the cause of the accident was unknown. Burnham-On-Sea.com understands drink driving was ruled out.
Police officers taped off the scene while a council repair team made safe the lighting column.
