Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers complete Weston Colour Run for charity

-

Two Burnham-On-Sea girls participated in the annual Weston Colour Run, helping to raise money for Weston Hospice Care.

Along with 1,500 other participants, Olivia Cox and Lauren James from King Alfred School completed the 5km route on Weston seafront in streaming sunshine, watched by several hundred spectators.

They ran as part of the Burnham Bootcamp group, which included local fitness trainer Victoria Taylor.

The girls raised a total of £108 towards supporting the Weston Hospice unit in Uphill.

The charity were hoping to raise a total of £55,000 with donations flooding in from competitors and sponsors.

Lauren told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I had a lot of fun doing the Colour Run for Weston Hospice Care which is close to me because my mum’s step-mum passed away in the care of the hospice. It was a great experience.”

Olivia added: “This run has started a new hobby for me and I will continue to raise money for charity now through completing different Colour Runs throughout the year. Thank you to the co-ordinators and charity for making it possible.”
