The winning entries in Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition were announced on Tuesday evening (December 22nd).
A panel of judges from the town council – Cllrs Peter Burridge-Clayton, Pat Burge and Cllr Dennis Davey – toured both towns over several nights to decide on a list of the best Christmas lighting displays.
In the homes category in Burnham, first place was won by 2 Trinity Close (pictured above), while second prize went to 40 Love Lane. The runners-up were 1 Ashcott Place and 17 Rosewood Avenue.
In Highbridge, the top award went to 10 Jasmine Close (pictured below) while second spot was awarded to 30 Fairford Road. The runners-up were 54 Poplar Estate and 27 Clover Way.
The best decorated business premises were Highbridge DIY and, in second place, the Secret World Charity shop in Burnham.
Cllr Burridge-Clayton, pictured above with Pat Burge and the owners of 40 Love Lane, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There were a few less displays than last year but the standard was still excellent. There were so many outstanding displays that it made the judging really hard. Clearly, a lot of effort went in by the winners.”
Cups and certificates for the winners will be presented by the Mayor at the January Council meeting on Monday 4th January at 7pm.
