Conservatives win Burnham sweet shop’s informal voting survey!

-

An informal survey of political voting intentions by customers at a Burnham-On-Sea sweet shop closed on Wednesday evening (May 6th) with the Tories as winners of the General Election.

Visitors to Bessies Sweet Shoppe in Burnham High Street have been invited to drop coloured sweets into jars in the shop window to show their party allegiances up to election eve.

The shop’s Sue Barber told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Wednesday evening: “The Conservatives won overall, with UKIP in second, followed by the Lib Dems, then Labour, the Greens and independents.”

She added: “There’s been a lot of interest in our informal survey which we set up as a bit of fun to lighten up the election!”

The survey was featured on BBC1’s Politics Show during April.
