Burnham teenager joins world record skydive bid for donkey charity

-

A local teenager is planned to join a world record attempt when she takes part in a sponsored tandem skydive.

Shona Nicol, 16, who until recently lived in Highbridge and worked voluntarily at Animal Farm in Berrow, is set to undertake the challenge.

Shona will dive from 15,000ft, the highest you can go without oxygen, during the feat on 20th June, which will raise funds for the Donkey Sanctuary.

The jump will part of a bid to beat the world record for the most people tandem skydiving in 24 hours.

Shona has in the past raised money and food for the Dogs Trust, Heavens Gate and she also underwent a sponsored hair cut in aid of The little Princess Trust.

“I am taking part in this to help break the world record for the most tandem skydives in 24 hours which in turn will hopefully bring awareness to the work that the donkey sanctuary does and raise as much money as possible to help them continue their good work,” she said.
