A man accused of killing Highbridge woman Laura Biss appeared in court via a video link on Thursday (January 25th).
Christopher Harris, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with the murder of Laura, whose body was found in Burnham Road during the early hours of Saturday January 20th.
Harris has also been charged with death by dangerous driving, and is now scheduled to appear at Bristol Crown Court on March 2nd for a plea and trial preparation hearing. He has been remanded in custody.
He appeared before the judge via video link for an application for bail hearing in Exeter. However, there was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody.
Laura’s family has paid tribute to her, saying: “Laura was a beautiful daughter, a fantastic mother and a great sister.”
“She was sensitive, caring and compassionate and would think nothing of going out of her way to help others.”
“She had a great sense of humour which made her very popular. She touched so many people’s lives in a positive way.”
“She was also a talented artist, who had a great future ahead of her.”
“Words cannot express what her loss means to all her family and friends – we are heartbroken and totally devastated.”
