Burglars sought after break-in at Burnham-On-Sea furniture store

-

Burglars smashed their way into a town centre shop in Burnham-On-Sea during the early hours of Saturday morning (May 23rd).

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the incident at Scott’s Furnishings in Victoria Street at around 12.15am.

“The burglars removed a window and then smashed their way through an internal door to get into our showroom,” owner Tony Scott told Burnham-On-Sea.com. The damaged door and debris is pictured below.

“They searched our office but nothing substantial was taken because we never keep cash on the premises overnight.”

“The alarm went off during the break-in and the police and I arrived soon afterwards, but the intruders had already gone.”

Police investigators were at the shop throughout Saturday, as pictured above, gathering evidence.

CCTV footage showing the intruders is also being studied by police and any witnesses or others with information should contact police on 101.
