Burnham-On-Sea’s MP Tessa Munt has attended a feminist campaign march in Westminster.
Organised by UK Feminista, the event was led by Helen Pankhurst, the great granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the Suffragette movement.
The event highlighted issues such as the rights of refugee women, representation of women in Parliament, the low rate of rape prosecutions, which currently stands at only 6%, and access to affordable childcare.
Tessa said: “All of these issues are fantastically important and it was great to see so many women come out for this march.”
“I will continue to support groups like UK Feminista who are campaigning to improve the rights of women and the representation of women in politics.”
