A Burnham-On-Sea NHS manager’s dedication to her dementia patients has been praised as an outstanding example of high quality care.
Carol Prichard, Senior Manager with the Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s Burnham Memory Assessment Service, has seen a 20% year-on-year increase in referrals.
Carol has enabled patients and carers to have immediate access to help and support, personally overseeing 90% of new clients herself.
At this year’s Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Staff Recognition Awards, Trust Chairman Linda Nash commended her, saying: “Carol has worked tirelessly for the memory assessment service and it came as no surprise when the service was assessed as ‘Excellent’ following a visit by the National Accreditation Programme for the Royal College of Psychiatry.”
“As a role model for students and staff alike, Carol exemplifies the qualities of public service with her ‘can do’ attitude is wrapped in humility.”
The Burnham Memory Assessment Service offers assessment, diagnosis, treatment and support to people suffering with dementia who live in and around the Burnham-On-Sea area. It is based at Berrow Health Centre in Brent Road, Berrow.
