These were the scenes in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday afternoon (May 31st) when firefighters were called to a fire in a flat.
The fire service received a call to Oxford Street at 4.25pm after reports that smoke was emerging from the property.
One crew from Burnham and two crews from Bridgwater attended.
“Crews discovered there had been a fire that was out on arrival involving food on a cooker,” said a spokesman. “The crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke and made the surrounding area safe.”
Oxford Street was closed for around 30 minutes while crews were at the scene. The flat is located next to a fish and chip shop in Oxford Street.
