Police in Burnham-On-Sea have made an arrest after recovering a £900 necklace that was stolen during a house burglary last month.
Four people had already been arrested following the burglary on January 8th and local beat officers, working closely with officers from the district’s targeting team, followed up information received from a member of the public regarding suspected stolen jewellery.
Police swooped on a market in the Burnham-On-Sea area, where the stolen necklace was recovered. It has now been returned to its delighted owner.
The valuable necklace was identified by the owner as the stolen property and, as a result, a 51 year-old man was arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.
DC Dan Mason told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This was another fine example of the positive action taken by the police when information is received from the local community regarding suspected criminal activity in our area.”
“We would like to thank the local community generally for their continued support and commitment to work with us to improve the quality of life in Burnham-On-Sea.”
