Highbridge youth cafe receives financial boost from Ladies Group

-

Members of Highbridge Ladies Group have this week handed a financial boost to the town’s Shed Youth Café.

The group has presented a cheque of £250 to the group, as pictured here, after hearing about the success of the cafe at the Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close.

Almost a year after the cafe opened, PCSO Sarah England and volunteers from the Youth Café recently visited the Highbridge Ladies Group to tell them about how successful it had become.

Jenny Pope, Chairperson of Highbridge Ladies Group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted that this venture has been so successful and that we are able to help with our donation. It is great to hear something positive about the youngsters of Burnham and Highbridge.”

“We feel that everyone connected with the Youth Café is doing a wonderful job and we are extremely pleased that we have been able to help. We wish them all the best for the future.”

Sarah and the volunteers thanked the group for the donation, which will be used to purchase additional equipment for the young people.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer at The Shed Youth Café – or can help in any other way – should contact Keith or Noreen on 07837 737344 or see the website here.
