Bright summer weather created great conditions for competitors at Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Sailing Regatta over the weekend.
The event, organised by Burnham Sailing Club, saw six yachts racing on Saturday and a further ten yachts in action on Sunday.
The regatta continues next weekend with races on Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th.
Super Sapphire, skippered by David Jackson, won Saturday’s race while Sunday’s competition was won by Merlin, skippered by Andy Walker.
The club’s David Humphrey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was windy at times during the weekend but sunny and dry and we’ve had a good start to the regatta week with two further days of races next weekend.”
The regatta week will see a hog roast at Burnham Yacht Club on Saturday evening and the prizegiving cerenony on Sunday evening.
