Cash boost awarded to Burnham-On-Sea disabilities club

-

A group that helps people with learning disabilities across the Burnham-On-Sea area has this week been handed a financial boost of hundreds of pounds.

County Councillor John Woodman has given the Burnham and Highbridge Gateway Club a cheque for £500 using money from his council community fund.

He presented the cheque to grateful club members during their AGM, held in Burnham’s BAY Centre, as pictured here.

The club – which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary – provides social activities for local adults with learning disabilities.

Club leader Barbara Thorogood told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re very grateful to John for choosing us for this money, which will go towards the cost of providing new facilities for our members.”
