Friends of Elaina Beard, the Burnham-On-Sea care worker who was tragically killed in a crash on the M5 earlier this mont, have held a balloon release in her memory.
Tributes have poured in for 29-year-old Elaina Beard, pictured, who died in a four-car collision shortly before 6.20am on February 9th between junctions 25 for Taunton and 26 for Wellington, as reported here.
Elaina worked for Bluebird Care in Burnham-On-Sea, providing home care and personal domestic care to local residents.
Over 50 friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues of Elaina gathered on Friday February 16th to remember her.
They gathered outside her former home at Westfield House in Bridgwater, before heading to St Matthew’s Field to release more than 100 balloons in her memory. One of her favourite songs was played as the balloons were released.
Following her death, Elaina’s family released a statement saying they were “heartbroken” at her passing.
Their tribute read: “Even as we write this it still doesn’t seem real that she was taken away from us so early.”
“We are supporting each other as a family and have sought a little comfort in the outpouring of messages from people close and far, and we thank you all. We take some comfort knowing she is now with our nan and grandad.”
Colleagues at Bluebird Care, based at Westpark, Chelston, near Wellington, also paid tribute describing Elaina as a “firecracker” in the Burnham-On-Sea team.
