Burnham-On-Sea firefighters tackled a blazing car in the centre of the town on Friday evening (February 23rd).
Crews were called to the junction of Princess Street and Victoria Street at just after 7.15pm where a Volkswagen Golf was well alight.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to put out the fire, outside the William Hill betting shop, and avoid it spreading.
The owner of the vehicle, who asked not be named, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a complete shock when the car started smoking and then we saw the flames.”
“The fire service did a superb job in putting out the fire and we thank them for their quick work.”
“We’re staying in the area from Suffolk on a short caravan break and had come into Burnham to get fish and chips.”
