A Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac whose stunning display of thousands of Christmas lights often features in the national press burst into festive colour on Saturday night (December 1st).

Despite chilly temperatures, a large crowd of people turned out to watch the eight Trinity Close homes switch on their illuminations.

The event was marked with festive musical entertainment from Burnham’s Curtain Call School Of Performing Arts.

The homes are decorated top to bottom with an estimated 100,000 tiny lights and the display is open to the public from 4.15pm – 10pm each night until January 6th.

The lights raised over £5,000 for charity last year and this year’s collection will go to three organisations: PETAL – The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust, rescue charity BARB and the Musgrove Hospital Baby Unit.

Resident Nick Gardner told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s another impressive display this year, particularly when you consider the wet and windy weather we’ve had over the past few weeks. Everything went right down to the wire and we were really pushed to finish it in time.”

“We hope to see lots of people over the festive period and raise a good sum for the three charities.”
