Burnham-On-Sea student Mia Rowlands has just finished her A-level exams but the pressure is still on as she competes in the Miss England competition this weekend.
The journey for her began at The Clothes Show Live where she entered the Miss Social Media competition. After getting the most Likes and retweets on Facebook and Twitter, she was entered into the Miss Wiltshire competition, and made the semi-finals of Miss England.
Mia said: “I have reached the finals for Miss Wiltshire and will be going to Wiltshire on Saturday 27th June to get to the next stage of the Miss England Competition.”
“I entered because I want a chance to show people that there is more to this than the beauty pageant and that it is important to raise money for children less advantaged.”
Miss England competition encourages entrants to help others and raise money for the ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ charity.
Mia is a familiar face in the Burnham area, competing as a local acrobatics gymnast at Monarchs Gymnastics Club in Highbridge and as a dancer at the Lisa Jane Dance School, where she is doing her grade 8 ballet exams.
