Now in its seventh year, The Healing Weekend returns to Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in East Huntspill.
Taking place from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th July, there are over 180 exhibitors and 90 workshops taking part plus music, performances and evening shows.
Event organisers say they are expecting big crowds at the popular festival, which supports local charity Secret World and local businesses.
Organiser Elaine Fenton says that everyone at the event is especially looking forward to welcoming Gracie Wickens-Sweet to the stage after reaching the semi-finals of this year’s ITV Britain’s Got Talent, as well as a special guest appearance by Australian vocalist Lou Van Stone.
“The Healing Weekend is now one of the best loved events of its kind in the UK,” says Elaine. “It attracts thousands of visitors from as far as Australia, Spain, Germany and Holland.”
“We have an amazing array of stands and exhibitions for people to browse and enjoy, plus a full programme of workshops which run throughout the three days.”
“This really is a first class event Somerset can be proud of, supporting the first class charity, Secret World.”
“If you have not visited before, you are in for a truly memorable experience, one the whole family can enjoy.”
Secret World fundraiser Jeremy Duxbury added: “We’re so looking forward to welcoming The Healing Weekend back here again. As well as all the workshops and talks there will also be an opportunity to learn more about Secret World’s work to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured wildlife, as well as just to soak in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy everything the site has to offer.”
The event is open from 10am to 6pm daily. Admission is £5 (entry to all workshops in any one day requires a £5 wristband which can be bought from the ticket office once inside the event).
The three full days of workshops, music and more includes two special evenings of performances on the Friday and Saturday:
Friday 10th July: A Spectacular Evening of Music and Song featuring Touch the Earth, Heaven and Earth, Cloudsong and Magdalena Atkinson. Tickets £5 from the event ticket office.
Saturday 11th July: Clairvoyance, Mentalism, Music and More, featuring Barbara Meiklejohn-Free, Patrick Gamble, Dr Alan Jones, Greg Smith, Sharon May, with Gracie Wickens-Sweet. Tickets £5 from the event ticket office.
There are onsite caterers all weekend and plenty of fun things for the children to do.
