Burnham and Highbridge Christmas lights contest winners announced

-

The winners of Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition have been announced this week.

Town councillors Pat Burge and Tom Nicholls (pictured below) have visited scores of displays across the towns before picking the winners.

In Burnham-On-Sea, the best house award goes to 1 St Christopher’s Way while the runner-up is 40 Love Lane. In Highbridge, the Best house award goes to 3 Donstan Road with the runner-up is 25 Smith Way.

First place in the best-decorated business category, judged by Cllr Dennis Davey, is Material Needs in Burnham High Street, with the RSPCA shop in Regent Street the runner-up.

The award for the best group of illuminated houses has gone to the homes of Trinity Close, pictured top, which we recently featured here.

Judge Pat Burge told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The number of entries was down on previous years, but there was still plenty of Christmas spirit on show around the towns and some great quality displays.”

This year’s cash prizes will be presented to all the winners before January’s Town Council Meeting on Monday, 7th January 2012.
