Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater were called out on Monday (July 13th) to rescue a horse stranded in a rhyne.
Crews were called to Northwick Road in Mark at 6pm following a call reporting the animal stuck in water.
One appliance from Burnham and the Specialist Rescue Team from Bridgwater were sent to the scene.
“Crews confirmed that the horse was stuck in a rhyne and attempted to lead the animal back up the rhyne to a cut-out,” said a spokesman.
“By 7.25pm, crews managed to lead it out of the rhyne safely back to its relieved owner.”
