The Burnham-On-Sea area was shivering under a thin blanket of snow today (Sunday).
Bitterly cold temperatures and snow swept in overnight from the east and continued during Sunday morning, coating the area in a wintry layer that’s unusual for this time of year.
As shown in these photos, strong winds created drifts of snow at Brean but, overall, there was less snow than at the start of March when the so-called ‘Beast From The East’ left several inches of the white stuff. Roads and pavements were mostly snow-free this time.
