Pupils step back in time for Medieval Day at Berrow School

-

Youngsters at Berrow School stepped back in time for their end of their term this week when they took part in a Medieval Day.

The pupils of Year 1 and 2 at Berrow have been finding out about Kings and Queens all term and even visited Caerphilly Castle to find out more about about medieval life.

“This week, they built their own castles and helped make food for a banquet,” said a spokeswoman.

“The two classes came to school dressed as knights, lords, ladies, kings and queens and dined on potage and pandemayne (vegetable stew and white bread) with butter and gingerbread sweetmeats, all washed down with ginger beer while they listened to medieval music.”
