Help at hand for Royal wedding street parties in Burnham-On-Sea

-

With only two months to go before the Royal Wedding on May 19th, Sedgemoor District Council has this week offered residents and community groups in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge help for planning street parties and outdoor events.

Local people are already planning street parties to celebrate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding on May 19th, The Big Lunch on June 3rd, the Great Get Together on June 22nd-24th, and the World Cup final on July 15th.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Many people are already planning street parties with friends and neighbours. Street parties are a great way for communities to come together to celebrate special occasions or annual events.”

“Remember, though, that you may need an Events Licence – please check with our licencing team via here – and you may need a road closure – click here for information.”

“The government has re-issued street party guidance here to make it easier for people to organise local events. As well as the guidance, The Big Lunch and The Great Get Together have lots of tips and resources to help people plan their event.”
