A devoted Burnham-On-Sea dog owner and her Crufts-winning border terrier have raised over £1,100 for charity by completing a fundraising walk.
Vanessa Holbrow – known to many as Ness – strode out with her dog, Sir Jack Spratticus, in a walk from Brean Down to Burnham-On-Sea at the weekend to raise funds for Beat, which helps people with eating disorders.
Burnham-On-Sea.com recently reported here that Jack and Ness had won the 2018 Friends For Life Award at Crufts.
Ness said: “A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported us – the support we have received is remarkable!”
“Thanks to those who helped us battle the elements – Jo Williams, Jo Fowles and Jess Griffiths with Reggie, Fergus and Hugo respectively.”
Since Jack is an assistance-dog-in-training with Canine Generated Independence (CGI), Jess Griffiths from CGI was keen to give her support and she joined the event too.
CGI is an unincorporated association of assistance dog owners and handlers, supporting each other to owner-train and work their assistance dogs.
