It’s definitely a Good Friday for this lucky dog after new cliff plunge

-

It certainly turned out to be a ‘Good Friday’ for this lucky animal after he survived a fall down the cliffs of Brean Down today (April 2nd).

Less than a week after a greyhound was killed in a plunge over the same cliffs, a new search had to be mounted for this missing red boxer.

Claire Brown and her family were walking the animal near Brean Down Fort at 10am when he ran off.

“She was running off the lead when she just disappeared from view and was not seen again,” Claire told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It was a horrible moment. We searched the cliffs and whole area around the fort without finding any sight of her.”

Walkers help mount a search of the Down but, unlike last weekend’s accident, the dog was eventually spotted three hours later at 1pm near Brean Cove, having apparently walked along the base of the cliffs.

Claire said: “We are so relieved to have her back after what happened last weekend. She’s got a small injury, but otherwise seems to be unhurt.”

Claire’s relieved son, Joe, is pictured above with the lucky dog who tumbled down the cliffs at Brean Down and survived on Friday morning
