Christmas post service in Burnham-On-Sea raises £1,000 for Scouts

-

A popular low-cost Christmas card delivery service run by Huntspill and Highbridge Scouts has raised £1,000 for the group.

The service has been provided by the group for many years and it is one of its key fundraising events, requiring hours of work by the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their parents.

Pat Weller, Group Treasurer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We raised the magnificent sum of £1,000 for our scout post this year. This is an increase of nearly 20 per cent.”

“Many thanks must go once again to our post box holders who, without their support, this would not be possible.”

“We were also very lucky to have our members – with lots of help from their parents – who undertook the delivery of the post.”

Cards are delivered to Pawlett, East and West Huntspill, Highbridge, Burnham-On-Sea and Berrow at a cost of 15p per card.
