Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Acoustic Club will play host to famed bluesman, guitarist and songwriter Wizz Jones next Thursday, April 15th.
One of the original bohemian folkies, Wizz was a key influence on both Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart as well as early folk musicians such as John Renbourn, Bert Jansch and Ralph McTell.
Ritz Acoustic Club’s Dom Wills told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A master of skiffle, bluegrass, folk and blues, he made a big splash in the Sixties with such albums as ‘The Legendary Me’ and was brought back to prominence in the 1990s by the renowned documentary Acoustic Routes.”
“Still living a ‘Have guitar, will travel’ lifestyle, Wizz is now being discovered by a whole new generation of acoustic music fans.”
