Police seize £40,000 of cannabis plants from sheds in Highbridge

-

Cannabis plants with a street value of £40,000 were seized during a drugs raid in Highbridge on Friday morning (January 11th).

Officers swooped on several garden sheds where they found around 40 plants at various stages of cultivation, as pictured here.

Police took away the plants along with growing equipment from several sheds located near the rear of the Bristol Bridge Inn as their investigations into the discovery got underway.

The sheds are on a separate property to the pub, and not associated with the Bristol Bridge Inn in any way.

Sgt Ian Kennett from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Around 40 plants and a cannabis cultivation equipment were discovered and enquiries are ongoing.”

He urged the local community to continue giving police intelligence on suspected drug dealers and growers in the area via the non-emergency Burnham Police number 101.

The raid came just hours after residents in the town had made tackling drugs the top priority for police over the next three months, as we reported here.
