Tree planted in Highbridge to mark end of Mayor’s year in civic role

-

A ceremony has been held in which the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have planted a tree this week to mark the end of their year in the roles.

Derek and Christine Cooper planted the new sapling in Highbridge’s Jubilee Gardens on Tuesday afternoon (April 20th).

A short ceremony was led by Hope Baptist Church Minister Reverend Andrew Jackson and was watched by several town councillors and residents, as pictured here.

Derek told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It has been a very busy and enjoyable year for Christine and I. We wanted to give something back to the two towns to mark the end of a wonderful year.”
