Residents in Highbridge have this week welcomed an announcement by the county council that a “much-needed” pedestrian crossing is to be installed outside the town’s medical centre.
The safety of the busy junction with Pepperall Road outside Highbridge Medical Centre has long been in the spotlight.
And this week, Somerset County Council has said a crossing will soon be installed to help pedestrians safely reach the facilities.
“This much-needed crossing will enable residents to cross safely following concerns about the traffic volume and speed going from Burnham Road to the Frank Foley past the medical centre,” Highbridge County Councillor John Woodman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“I am delighted that this road safety initiative is going ahead and I would like to thank local councillors Chris Williams and Pat Burge for the support they have given to me in this application.”
