Crews called out after girl is injured in accident on Brean beach
Crews from Burnham Coastguards and BARB were called to Brean beach on Sunday evening (August 9th) to help an injured child following an accident.
The 12 year-old girl – who was on a day trip from Gloucester with her family – had suffered a heavy fall while playing on the beach near the Seagull pub shortly after 5.30pm and had a suspected broken ankle.
Crews were called to help the distressed youngster, and were on hand to stretcher her off the beach for the trip to hospital.
The incident came at the end of a busy day for the crews following the annual rescue services day in Burnham.
