Highbridge pair’s sponsored shave raises £120 for air ambulance

-

Two Highbridge residents have raised over £120 for charity by having their heads and bodies shaved!

James Newsome and Michael Mullen, pictured, held their sponsored shave in the town on Saturday afternoon in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The spectacle was held at Highbridge Community Hall in Market Street where several residents who had sponsored them came along to watch.

“The air ambulance is a vital organisation and I don’t think they get as much support as they deserve,” James told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We wanted to do some different to help them and came up with the idea of a sponsored head and beard shave plus a leg and chest wax!”

“Saturday’s event went really well and we thank everyone who supported us. We’re really pleased with the sum raised.”

Further donations can be given in at the One Stop Shop in Market Street, Highbridge, where they work.
