Burnham-On-Sea Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses after a motorcyclist sadly died in an accident with a van on a local country lane on Thursday afternoon (April 26th).

The motorbike collided with the van in Burnham Moor Lane in between Edithmead and Watchfield shortly before 3pm, say Police.

“A Kawasaki ZX9R motorcycle collided with a Ford Transit Connect travelling in the opposite direction as it overtook a lorry.”

“The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old man, died at the scene from his injuries.”

“If you witnessed the collision please call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and tell the call handler you are phoning in relation to log 627 of April 26.”

“The road was closed while officers carried out enquiries at the scene.”

Burnham Moor Lane – which runs between Edithmead at the junction with the A38 through to Watchfield – was closed for several hours while Police carried out their investigation.
