Libraries in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge marked National Libraries Day with a day of fun-filled activities on Saturday (February 9th).
Burnham and Highbridge Libraries encouraged children to take part in book-themed activities, which also included a bear hunt.
Somerset County Council’s staff were also on hand to explain how easy it is to become a library member and gain access to a wide range of services.
A unique 3D printer also went on show at Burnham Library by local enthusiast Russell Dicken, drawing plenty of interest.
National Libraries Day was a culmination of a week’s worth of celebrations in school, college, university, workplace and public libraries across the UK.
A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were really pleased with the support shown at our libraries in Burnham and Highbridge. The event was well supported by local people and both libraries were much busier than on a normal Saturday.”
