Highbridge Enterprise Centre is perfect home for local fitness business

-

Local fitness business All Star Health Academy has moved into the new Highbridge Enterprise Centre and is already experiencing success.

The centre, located on the Isleport Business Park, was opened by the County Council in the Spring and is aimed at promoting business growth and supporting local start-up companies.

Jakki MacPhail, Highbridge Enterprise Centre Manager, says the fitness business run by Karen Phillips, pictured right, has gone from strength to strength since she joined the Highbridge centre.

“The Centre provides the business with a professional office space to run her company and hold private client consultations,” she says. “It is also near to the facilities where the fitness classes take place.”

Karen says her underlying interests in sport and fitness inspired her to a change of career in 2008.

Having worked in finance with her family business, running marathons in London and New York made her think about her true ambitions in life. Undertaking a series of courses and workshops, Karen qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor.

She says: “I have always been an active and sporty person and wanted to be able to use this passion to offer guidance to others. My classes are for all abilities and focus on a fun and social element while reaping the benefits of regular exercise.”

“I plan the classes to ensure that individuals of differing fitness levels across the spectrum are appropriately challenged. My clients are really enjoying themselves while achieving their fitness goals. I am aiming to have a class running every day at locations around Highbridge to reach as many people in the local community as possible.”

Her classes take place at St John’s Hall in Highbridge on Tuesdays from 9:30-10:15am and Thursdays from 9:30-10:15am and 6:30-7:15pm. There is also a class at Burnham Baptist Church on Tuesday from 6:30-7:15pm.

The classes are suitable for men and women of all ages and abilities and the first class is free. To book in for a class call Karen on 07584 078960.

Karen added: “The next steps for me and the business is to offer onto-to-one consultations and courses for nutrition and weight. The offices at Highbridge are perfect for this as it gives me the privacy with clients and a great space to provide workshops in.”

“The Centre is fantastic for my company’s needs and everyone from Somerset Enterprise Centres have been really helpful, professional, friendly and supportive. I am looking forward to being part of the journey as the Centre reaches out to other local, small businesses and expands our community here.”

Highbridge Enterprise Centre is showcasing its facilities during an Open Day on Friday 25th September.

Local businesses can meet the staff and some of the business owners based at the Centre and hear how the facility benefits them.

The vibrant business environment benefits from free business advice, tailored workshops and superfast broadband.
