Burnham-On-Sea skywatchers photograph Venus and crescent moon

-

Burnham-On-Sea residents photographed the beautiful sight of the crescent moon next to the planet of Venus on Thursday (17th May).

Venus was clearly visible in the evening sky as a glittering ‘evening star’ and it was joined by the thin crescent of the new moon, creeping eastward from the sun to begin a new lunar month.

A Burnham-On-Sea.com reader captured these superb scenes in the late evening next to Burnham Pavilion at high tide.

And Burnham photographer Ray Stevens took a photo of the new moon and Venus from Burnham beach, below.
