Burnham-On-Sea Panto Society members celebrate award wins

-

This group of Burnham-On-Sea District Pantomime Society members was celebrating this week after receiving certificates and trophies during the organisation’s annual awards night.

The group’s president, Derick Cooper, handed out the well-deserved awards during a special event held at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road.

The group’s production of Aladdin won praise at the Cinderella Awards, Somerset’s equivalent of the pantomime oscars.

Colin Frechter won solo musican of the year – a fantastic feat – while the society also won the award for best original costumes, and Lisa Davis won Principle Boy of the Year.

“The group also had alot of nominations right across the board which we are all very proud of,” the group’s Paul Wynn told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The group is currently rehearsing for a performance of The Good Old Days, a one-off show revolving around old time musical shows. The shows will be held on 8th, 9th and 10th July at the Princess. Tickets cost £8 each and are available from the Barber Shop at 7a The High Street.
