Burnham-On-Sea Mayor presents Scouts with well-deserved awards

-

Dozens of Scout leaders from across the district gathered in Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday (June 17th) for their annual awards presentation night.

Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, plus Sedgemoor District Chairman Jane Moreton were among the special guests at the Sedgemoor Scouts AGM held at Burnham’s Scout HQ.

Alan Matthews, Chairman of Burnham Scouts, was presented with a Chief Scouts Medal of Merrit for his hard work and long service.

And Rachel Burland was presented with the Wood Beads award for her work in overseeing the long-running Scout band.

“It was an excellent evening when we looked back a busy year of events and saw some of our hard-working team given aswards,” Group Scout Leader Dave Burland told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The group is keen to hear from local people who would like to join its management committee to help with running the busy group.
