Sleet and snow could fall across the Burnham-On-Sea area on Monday, forecasters have warned.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the south west as a spell of wintry conditions sweeps in.
Light snow fell in Burnham on Sunday afternoon and more could arrive with icy winds gusting up to 60mph.
Burnham is on the edge of the Met Office’s warning zone and temperatures in our area are forecast not to rise above 2°C during Monday.
“A low pressure system moving up from the Atlantic will come up against the influx of cold air from the north, bringing sleet and snow,” explained a spokesman. “At the same time winds will increase, with gusts of 50-60mph on coasts and hills.”
