Burnham Hospital receives £320 from fundraising bikers

-

A group of fundraising bikers handed over a cheque for more than £300 to the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Hospital on Wednesday evening (June 30th) following a recent bike run.

Over 40 motorcycling enthusiasts from the town took part in a 100 mile bike on June 13th, raising £320 for the town’s hospital in the process.

Motorcycle enthusiast Phil Hayward organised the event in aid of the Friends of Burnham Hospital, with the convoy of bikes making their way to Lynmouth and back.

Phil and fellow bikers Pete Baker, Heather Hayward and Ron Griffiths handed over the cheque to the hospital’s Bernard Spilsbury and Tony Deahl on Wednesday, as pictured here.

Tony told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This gesture by Phil and his biking friends, in appreciation of the excellent treatment many had experienced at our hospital, is very much appreciated. The bike run was a fun and novel way of raising much needed funds.”

Phil thanked all those who had taken part in the run and also praised several local businesses who supported the event, including Dog Motorcycles, Pat Watts, David Bull Opticians, the Dunstan House, Oaktree Arena, Naughty and Nice, and V&J’s Motorbikes.
