Graham appointed official Mayor’s Chaplain in Burnham-On-Sea

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor appointed his official chaplain for the coming year on Monday evening (July 5th).

Reverend Graham Witts, vicar of St Andrew’s Church, was welcomed to the position by Cllr Michael Clarke outside the town council chambers in Jaycroft Road, as pictured here.

The Mayor is shown handing over the the council’s traditional red ‘stole’, an embroidered red band of cloth, to Rev’d Witts during a brief ceremony watched by Paul Kingdom, the curate of St Andrew’s Church.

Cllr Clarke told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am delighted to welcome Graham to the job and look forward to working with him over the coming year.”

Andrew Jackson, minister of Hope Baptist Church in Highbridge, was the town’s previous Mayoral Chaplain while Derick Cooper was in the role.
