The winners of Burnham-On-Sea’s 70th Sailing Regatta have been announced after four days of races around Bridgwater Bay.
The event was held over two weekends, with gig rowing and yacht races taking place in the estuary and visible to seafront walkers.
The final races were held on Sunday afternoon (June 10th) to determine this year’s overall regatta winners, who were Andy and Sue Walker onboard their yacht Merlin.
Second was the yacht Enchanta with David Barrett and Stuart Harvey. Third place was Walrus, with Rod Southwell and Sam Ashton onboard.
Rod told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had four good days of racing during this year’s regatta, but could have done with more wind on several occasions.”
“Nine yachts took part overall and our thanks go to everyone who supported the event.”
