Burnham-On-Sea prepares for Britain In Bloom judges

-

Final preparations are underway in Burnham-On-Sea this week for the yearly visit by judges from the Britain In Bloom competition.

Residents are being urged to tidy their gardens and keep the town litter-free ahead of the judges’ visit this Thursday (July 15th).

A final clean-up operation has been taking place, with undergrowth being trimmed and rubbish collected, as pictured here.

Richard Young, one of the organisers, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The town is looking really wonderful this year, with some impressive displays.”

“We have had good support from residents, and both the town and district councils, so hopes are high of doing well.”

“The regional judges will be visiting Burnham on Thursday morning, when they will be touring several areas of the town centre starting at the fountain in Pier Street,” added Mr Young.

Burnham won a silver award in last year’s Britain In Bloom competition, while Highbridge received a silver gilt in its first year in the contest. The Britain In Bloom judges will also be visiting Highbridge shortly, where hopes are high of further success.
