Burnham-On-Sea’s Zone Youth Club issues appeal for new volunteers

-

A Burnham-On-Sea youth club says its future could be in jeopardy unless it can find new volunteers.

The Zone Youth Club, based at the Bay Centre in Burnham’s Cassis Close, needs to find extra helpers to help with fundraising and operations.

The club’s Jayne Lilley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are looking for a new Chairperson, Committee Members and Volunteers to help with fundraising and running of the club. It would only be a maximum of around four hours a month.”

“The club has gone from strength to strength in the last year and we have seen attendance rise dramatically in the last six months which is why we are so keen for the club to continue and thrive.”

The club meets at the Bay Centre in Burnham every Tuesday during term time from 3.30-5.30pm and welcomes young people aged between 11-16. The 35 young members enjoy a variety of activities and sports from smoothie making to rounders.

“If you have a few hours to spare each week and could help us in anyway please get in touch,” added Jayne.

She warned: “Unfortunately, the future of the club is at risk if we can’t secure more volunteers.”

“Please get in touch via email at zone_youthclub@yahoo.com – we look forward to hearing from you.”
